The Andrews Sisters

d and a d entry with Bonnie Moriarty.
Our songs were by The Andrews Sisters and were meant to reflect the close harmony of their music.
The wave toy works has piano keys painted on top of it and moves gently up and down in rhythm to the song we chose.

holey dictionary

Experimenting with what happens when you cut all of the English out of a dictionary and are left with the root language.

language leaves

Tester for final project all about language and translation.
The design completely changed for this one but its about visualising how languages look when put next to each other. Each word is handwritten from the dictionary for that language and then mirrored with the english translation in the blue.
Will try and update final pieces soon!

transport your london

Re-photographed and put into format for the serco illustration prize for the museum of london.
Thanks to the lovely Marin Matsuo for helping me!

nationality map

Final Major Project from last year.
Trying to (literally) map someone's nationality and how comes each country's representative features might cross in mixed race people.
Each map is hand cut to leave just the roads and then layered over each other to create the person.

Entry for the Penguin Competition for '100 years of Solitude' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Based on the theme of the ever-repeating mistakes of each generation and the fact that the whole story is revealed to be pre-determined.

braille wallpaper

This wallpaper measures a metre and a half by half a metre.
On alternate lines, the embossed braille reads as the coronation speech made by Elizabeth II while the debossed braille portrays the abdication speech by Edward VIII reflecting the chosen words Passive and Active.

head mapping

Mapping my options of escape routes out of London.
This will be turned into books following each coloured route.
